It’s time to break the news – that day is finally here. Most Atlassian Marketplace add-ons are now supported on iOS, Android, Desktop, and Mac apps. It goes without saying, Smart Checklist is one of those.

Using Jira Smart Checklist on Android
Let’s take a look at how you can view Smart Checklists on Jira for Android.
Step #1. Open the Jira mobile app and log into your account.
Step #2. Choose the board and the task you attached a smart checklist to.
Step #3. Scroll down the task – there’s a Smart Checklist button next to “Priority” and “Automation” sections.
Step #4. Choose “Smart Checklist” and wait for the add-on to load.
You will see your entire checklist exactly the way you see it via the web version.
Step #5. To tick the checkpoint when the stage is complete, tick the square next to the task. The checklist point will be in strikethrough like this:

To see more status update options, tap on the arrow in the task tab. There, you will see all project status types.
The Smart Checklist add-on comes with a convenient in-line editor.
The tool supports a markup editor as well. To open it, choose the pen icon at the top of the screen. Then, you will be able to edit the checklist using markup.

To import a checklist using templates, choose the … icon and go to “Import from template”.
Then, choose the template you want to attach to the task, and that’s it – you’ve got a brand new checklist.
Note: if you haven’t installed the Smart Checklist plugin, make sure to do that before integrating it with the mobile app.
Here’s a short guide on setting up Smart Checklist for Jira from scratch.
- Find Smart Checklist for Jira on Atlassian Marketplace.
- Choose “Try it free” and select the type of Jira tools you are using – Cloud, Server, or Data Center.
- Choose the project you want to integrate Smart Checklist with. Note that you need to be an administrator to install add-ons in Jira.
- Click “Start free trial” to install and start using Smart Checklist.

If you use a Jira Cloud app on macOS, here’s how you can add, delete, and manage smart checklists there.
Step #1. Log into your account and choose a task, for which you want to add or edit a checklist.

Step #2. In the side-bar menu, choose Smart Checklist.
Step #3. Now that you see your checklist, feel free to add new items to it, cross off completed tasks, or open a markup editor.

Step #4. To import a checklist from a template, click on the three-dot sign. Choose Import from the template and enter the name of the template you want to import.
This way, you can automate the process of adding new checklists to the task and save your team a lot of productive time.
Using Jira Smart Checklist on iOS
Viewing Jira checklists via iOS is no rocket science too. Here’s how you can see your workflows via the Jira Cloud-native app for iOS.
Step #1. Log into your Jira account.
Step #2. Choose a task in the project window.
Step #3. Scroll down the project and choose “Smart Checklist” in the sidebar.
Step #4. Wait a second until the integration loads.
Step #5. Add a new checklist item in the “Add a checklist item” tab.
Step #6. Tab on the square in the task tab to cross off completed processes.
Step #7. To open the markup editor, choose the pen icon at the top of the screen.
